Bringing a puppy into your family is a big decision, and we want every Passionate Poodles home to feel confident in it. This page explains how deposits, payments, and refunds work, including the refund options under our 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee and the rights Pennsylvania law gives you.

Reservation Deposits

We do not collect payments through this website. After we review your application and agree on a puppy, we arrange your deposit with you directly.

A $500 deposit reserves your puppy. We apply the deposit toward your puppy's total price.

  • If you decide not to move forward, the deposit is non-refundable.

  • If we cannot provide the puppy you reserved, we refund your deposit in full.

Payment and Pickup

Your remaining balance is due on or before the day you pick up your puppy. We do not offer returns or refunds for reasons of change of mind, household circumstances, or fit. The exceptions are our 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee and your rights under Pennsylvania law, both described below.

2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee: Replacement or Refund

Every Passionate Poodles puppy comes with a written 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee. If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses a life-altering genetic or hereditary condition within two (2) years of your adoption date, and we validate the claim, you choose one of two options:

  • A replacement puppy of equal value from our next available litter. You cover transportation costs.

  • A full refund of your puppy's adoption price.

Covered: diagnosed life-altering genetic or hereditary conditions.

Not covered under the guarantee: common illnesses, parasites, injuries, veterinary bills, travel, and other related costs. Some of these may still be covered by Pennsylvania law during your first 30 days. See below.

Keeping Your Guarantee Active

The guarantee stays in force as long as your puppy has:

  • A clean, safe, nurturing home

  • A nutritious diet

  • Regular veterinary check-ups and all recommended vaccinations

  • Prompt veterinary care if they become ill

Hold on to your veterinary records. They are what confirm these conditions were met if you ever need to file a claim.

How to Make a Claim

  1. Notify us in writing as soon as your veterinarian makes the diagnosis.

  2. Send us a written statement and the complete report from your licensed veterinarian confirming the condition.

We may ask to have your puppy examined by a veterinarian of our choosing, and we pay for that examination. Once we validate the claim and a licensed veterinarian confirms the condition, you choose your replacement puppy or your refund.

The signed 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee you receive at pickup governs. This page summarizes it.

Your Rights Under Pennsylvania Law

Pennsylvania law gives dog buyers protections that apply in addition to our guarantee, and on a shorter timeline. Our guarantee does not replace or limit them.

If a licensed veterinarian determines within 10 days of purchase that your puppy is clinically ill or has died from a contagious, infectious, or parasitic illness that renders the puppy unfit for purchase, or certifies within 30 days of purchase that your puppy has a congenital or hereditary defect that adversely affects their health, you may:

  • Return your puppy for a full refund of the purchase price, not including sales tax

  • Return your puppy for a replacement of equal value, if one is available

  • Keep your puppy and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary costs, up to the purchase price

Note the difference from our guarantee: within these windows, Pennsylvania law can cover illness, parasites, and veterinary bills, which our 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee does not.

To use these rights, take your puppy to a licensed veterinarian promptly after pickup. You will need a written certification from that veterinarian, and there are notice deadlines that run in days, not weeks. Tell us the examining veterinarian's name, address, and phone number within two business days of the examination. We may ask you to bring your puppy for an examination by a veterinarian we designate, at our cost, within two business days of hearing from you. Any refund or reimbursement we owe is paid within 14 days of our receiving the veterinarian's certification.

You receive a full written summary of these rights at the time of sale.

THIS DISCLOSURE OF RIGHTS IS A SUMMARY OF PENNSYLVANIA LAW. THE ACTUAL PROVISIONS OF THE LAW ARE IN SECTION 9.3 OF THE UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES AND CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW.

Registration Paperwork

Where we advertise a puppy as AKC registered or registrable, we give you the breeder's name and address, the names and registration numbers of the dam and sire, and the registry's name and address at the time of sale. We provide the documentation needed to register your puppy within 120 days of the sale date. If we do not, Pennsylvania law lets you return your puppy for a full refund or keep your puppy and receive a refund of half the purchase price.
